First SliderView Beta was not good enough for me.
The technology  was not appropriate for the futur.

So i do it again, from scratch with a new technology for me ( C# Dot Net with WPF graphics,  instead of C++ with personal graphics engine).
So that’s it, new SliderView beta is here.

SliderView is a mix between many things :

• Apple Dashboard :  It open above desktop, and show your “widgets”
• Android desktop :  You can slide horizontally your widget.
• Windows Explorer : You can navigate vertically thru your widgets

SliderView is released in BETA VERSION, there is no option, no settings dialog for now.
(None icon is provided, the icons you can see in the screenshot, can be found on internet)

In this new version, there is no more docklet support I’ll add some “active” widgets later.

After the installation, you can find a shortcut of SliderView  in your desktop.

Main actions :

To open the “main” windows, double-click on the icon in the right of the taskbar or press ALT+F11.
Or just hold CTRL key and click at the bottom on the windows desktop (anywhere at the bottom).

To create a shortcut with the screenshot of the window which have the focus, press ALT+F12
SliderView should take automatically the current URL if you do a shortcut of Internet Explorer and Chrome  (Firefox have some problem i will resolve) . This URL will be in the properties of the widget.
If you run SliderView.exe again, via the shortcut or via a shortcut in your taskbar, it open the main window.

In the main window :

Right click on desktop to open context menu to create a new widget.
Right click on widget to open menu to Delete or Open properties dialog for widgets.
Right click on widget and move mouse to move the widget.
Left click on widget or desktop and move mouse to slide the desktop.
Left click in desktop , ALT-TAB or ESC to hide SliderView.
Left click + CTRL key to resize a widget.
No Rotate in this version.

Navigation :

Double-click on widget to “Enter” in this widget, the widgets can contains other widgets like folders.
Press BACKSPACE key or click on the “Down” picture to go back to previous desktop.
Press HOME key to go to “Main Desktop” (first SliderView desktop)
Press keyboard to write the string you want to search in widget’s title.
Drag and drop widget on another to set it as “Child”.
Drag and drop widget on the “Down” bitmap (back button) to put it in the parent folder.

With Standalone Stack 2, Matonga and I give you the ability to have stacks in your desktop.
Stacks are good for dynamics folders, to get the file you’ve just downloaded, but for static folder, where you put your shortcuts we can do better…i think SliderView is better.

• Object Dock :  SliderView support some Docklets from ObjectDock

 If you have ObjectDock or RocketDock,you certainly know the stack docklet from Matonga.

Now, if you don’t want any dock and simply use your taskbar, you can have stack view too.
Just get StandaloneStack 2, create a shortcut and voilà, run it to show the stack.

StandaloneStack 2 use the Matonga stack library, so you can thank him for making it….

The file list is not reloaded from filesystem.
- Custom icon name is now like “_.doc” with underscore (XP can’t create file without prefix like .doc )
- Fix location of stack if you force the position and then change screen resolution.
- Right click context menu.
- “click thru” on transparent part of the icon (for stack mode) now open the shortcut.
- Keep mouse button settings if button is swapped ( for lefty )
- you can force stack position on screen- numerical sorting for filename.
when filename begin with a number, it is used to sort the file.
- don’t run shortcut if you hold down mouse button more than 2 seconds
- video shorcut preview and animation
- you can turn off video preview
- “A stack/folder in the stack can not be opened if it contains the shortcut of deleted application” should work ?
- stack shortcut creation can be made in any folder ( instead of desktop folder only)

I’m not the developper of this software but i find it very good.
It’s a first version, the sources are included.
The difference between Yod’m 3D/Deskspace and DeskHedron is that DeskHedron use multiple explorer.exe instances to create desktop, so it can use more memory but the desktop management is better.

( I repeat,  i’m not the author of the soft )

First beta version of Scalable : Download
Unzip the files in a directory, run scalable.exe.

Scalable allow you to make “virtual” windows of real windows application.
The virtual window can be used like the real windows, with keyboard and mouse.

Run for example Notepad.exe or calc.exe (the calculator),
press CTRL key, hold down and click on the minimize button of the window.
Release CTRL key.
You should see a reduced window of notepad ( or calculator ).
Now you can use it with the mouse and keyboard, like the real window.
Hold CTRL key to move it with the mouse ( click anywhere on it ), or just use the title bar like with the real window.

To get the real windows back, just click on the “restore” button (in the title bar of the reduced window) or press escape key.
( if you lost the real window,right click on the taskbar button of the window, choose “Move” and press arrows keys, the window should appears…)

This is still a beta version, so a lot of programs doesn’t works with mouse and keyboard. The reduced menu doesn’t work.
