Leopard Stacks for your taskbar is… “StandaloneStack”
Publié par admin dans Desktop/Bureau![]() |
. | If you have ObjectDock or RocketDock, you certainly know the stack docklet from Matonga. Now, if you don’t want any dock and simply use your taskbar, you can have stack view too. Just get StandaloneStack , create a shortcut with the good parameters and voilà, run it to show the stack. StandaloneStack use the Matonga stack docklet, so you can thank him for making it…. see StandaloneStack page to know more. |

Works very nice! I would like to have an option to set the maximum number of items of the stack.

sorry , i can’t do that, you have to wait a new version from Matonga ( http://www.aqua-soft.org/board/showthread.php?t=46859 ).
I just use his stack docklet, i can’t add any options.

This is very nice. I have been looking for something like this since I got Vista. Thanks!

Hi!
This is a very usefull tool. Thanks for it.
But one thing is distracting.
The start-Time could be a little bit faster. I have an very fast Computer but when I klick on an icon sometimes I have to wait a little bit to long. Sometimes it is 1,5sec
I know this is short but it is distracting for starting a programm in it.
I think this is when the icons are not in the memory. When I start again it is very fast.
Working with other programs and starting the stack again let me wait.
Could this make a little bit faster for every start?

[…] RocketDock juga bisa diinstall plugin. Dan udah lumayan banyak pluginnya, contohnya adalah StackDocklet yang tujuannya menampilkan efect StackDock seperti di MacOS […]

I totally agree with Kai. It takes too long for the stack to popup (despite that we are talking of a couple of seconds). Once Icons are cached (or something) it works beautiful!
Thanks

yes, you’re right, that’s because there is no running program at all.
So the first time, the .exe is loaded, this take 1-2 seconds, and next, i think the exe is already loaded somewhere in window’s memory and takes less time.
i can’t do anything for this. Because i must use shortcut to run StandaloneStack from taskbar or desktop (you can’t use anything else in the taskbar).

Is it possible to run it as a startup program, hidden in background, decreasing the response time?

yes it’s possible.
But i have to add a parameter like /load (for example) to exit immediatly, but for now, i have no time…
But you can to a trick :
create a shortcut to standaloneStack : c:\standalonestack\StandaloneStack.exe startup
run it, in the config dialog, set “none” ( or whatever you want like toto or titi (a bad folder in fact) ) in the folder field and check “Don’t show open folder”. Click OK.
run it again, nothing should appear.
you can now put this shortcut in the startup folder ( in the start menu )

Hi, I am running this program on vista as administrator, the folder stack seems to work well, but when I clicked an icon in a task stack or a tray stack, I got a “the operating system denied access to the specified file” error message, is there a way around it?

maybe put the stack executables in a simple directory like c:\traystack and c:\taskstack. It seems that your files are in program files ? ( the rights are limited in this directory )
